Land Acknowledgement: We Are All Treaty People

We gather on Treaty 61, between the European peoples and the Anishinaabeg peoples. We gather in the promise that new beginnings and right relations are possible. We remember yesterday – and the horrors that were committed against First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. We acknowledge these horrors have a lasting effect and racism is still strong today. We dream and strive for the future when all peoples live with respect and appreciation for one another’s faiths and cultures. To this end – we proclaim – we are all treaty people.
