All Saints Remembrance based on Wisdom of Solomon 3:1-9
One: Solomon once wrote, “The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them.
Many: “In the eyes of the foolish, they seem to have died and their departure is considered a disaster.
One: “The foolish say their departure is the end of them. But we know they are at peace.
Many: “For though in the sight of others they were punished, we know their hope is full of immortality.”
One: Wise Solomon tells us, “Those who Trust in God will understand truth,
Many: “and the faithful will abide with God in love
One: “Because God’s grace and mercy are upon God’s holy children, and God watches over God’s own.”
Let us today be wise, and witness to the cloud of saints around us who peacefully rest in God’s hand. Although we are sad, and people tell us these loved ones are gone, we know in whom our hope rests and that in their physical departure, our loved ones continue to be with us in spirit.
As your loved one is named, please come forward and light a candle in their honor and take a rose with you.
We remember and honor the witness of: ((names))
And we remember all of those who have passed on before us unnamed. These saints continue to bless us this very moment with the faith examples, and love, they have given us.
Let us pray
All: Oh Holy God, we thank you for all these saints! Remind us in the days, weeks, and years ahead that our loved ones rest securely in your tender hands. Amen.
